Sustainability

Is BOTL Amsterdam a sustainable brand?

Sustainability is a core part of how BOTL Amsterdam designs and makes its products. Every bike hanger is made from FSC-certified European oak, meaning the wood comes from responsibly managed forests in Europe where harvested trees are replanted. By sourcing locally within Europe, we keep transport distances short and our carbon footprint low.

We use no plastic in our products or packaging. All fixings and hardware are metal, and the natural oil finish we apply to the wood is free from harmful chemicals. Our products are built to last for many years, which means fewer replacements and less waste over time.

Where does the oak used in BOTL products come from?

All oak used in BOTL Amsterdam products is FSC-certified and sourced from sustainably managed forests in Europe. FSC certification guarantees that the wood is harvested responsibly, with respect for ecosystems, local communities and the long-term health of the forest.
